Occupied by the The Rajneesh Sannyasin community of Fremantle from 1981-1985. The 'Orange People' ran the vegetarian restaurant Zorba the Buddha on the ground floor and used the building as a residential commune and meditation centre until 1985.
Aga Khan, a Persian royal billionare of whom had a large stake in the America's Cup race, bought the Trades Hall in '85 and converted it into an upmarket Italian restaurant and convention centre.
